After a long delay, this bag finally arrived last week! This is my first Balenciaga. I first fell in love with this bag when I saw a picture of Nicole Ritchie with her 05 Magenta. However by the time I wanted the bag, magenta was discontinued.
I couldn't believe my luck on my trip to NYC in June, the SA told me I could order the 07 Limited Edition Magenta (I was actually about to compromise on a different colour rather half-heartedly, I might add). I had heard about the LE Magenta but thought since it was in limited amount, fat chance I would be able to get my hands on one. Afterall, I live in the middle of nowhere!! Little did I know that my NYC trip proved to a very fruitful one!
Anyway, presenting the many shades of my 07 LE Magenta with RH:

Anya Hindmarch - I am not a plastic bag.
On the day I arrived in NYC (June), I got an e-mail from the Anya Hindmarch website notifying that I got randomly picked to purchase the bag online. For once in my life, I was finally thankful for having an address in the middle of nowhere. I couldn't believe my luck and made the purchase immediately. I started to fantasise being one of the first to wear the coveted cheapo bag. Oh boy....
After such a long wait - the bag finally arrived. Admittedly it was such an anti-climax. The thrill of the moment was way over due. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worst, I went to The Mall only to discover bloody Tan Kok Tong had the fake version in abundance - yes, wrong sized font and all.
No surprise that I have yet to be seen in public with the bag. In fact, the tag is still on the bag.

Just when I thought I was doomed to self-financing my bag-buying habit - Laukong made history by buying me this bag. Actually, Laukong made even bigger history by buying himself the LV Dersou from the Taiga leather range (he later went on to buy a Prada sling-bag too). I guess, he bought me this bag out of sheer guilt. I don't think he himself have even imagined seeing the day when he would be buying himself a "him"bag! Oh well, no harm going on a guilt-trip. I think Laukong should go on that road more often!!
You hear me, babe?

Bottega Veneta
I've been wanting a BV bag for the longest of time. In fact, it was in my NYC shopping list. However, the Birkin sort of changed that shopping list drastically.
So just when I thought, "no more bags after NYC", I happened upon this bag while in Singapore. This bag practically screamed, "Buy ME!!!!." What better way to break my BV virginity by getting the Veneta in red (I later discovered - much to my complete ignorance - that the colour is carmino). Then I was showned the wallet, and (conviniently) remembered I was on the look-out for a smaller wallet too (says, she).

Another "missed the boat" first time round purchase. I had actually got on the waitlist for this bag (same size, same colour) when it first came out whilst living in Dubai. But the silly buggers at Villa Moda never called until I found out myself that the bags had actually arrived but, of course by then SOLD OUT. Bastards.
But rejoice, rejoice, rejoice...as I have found the bag BRAND NEW!!! At this rate, you gotta believe there is a bag angel out there.

Whilst the Chloe Bay Tote was a case of "kapih-kapihan" things to buy, these lot are a case of "kepunan" from the early 90's. Back in the days when I was still in Secondary school (yes, it does seem like light years away), I coveted these Moschino bags. But of course, the curse of not having been born with a silver spoon, meant that I (i.e. my parents) could not afford to buy me these luxuries. So I had to resort to either drooling endlessly or live vacariously through classmates who strut their Moschino school bag, pencil case, wallet, etc.
The curse of not been born with a silver spoon also meant that by the time I (i.e. NOT parents) could finally afford to buy the bag myself, of course I can no longer find this collection anywhere. As luck would have it, I managed to find a place that still actually sells it - BRAND NEW!!!!!! So, me being "kiasu" about it practically bought every single item that they have available.
Don't ask me what I'm going to use these bags for - for I will tell you "I am a bag collector, dahlink."

Funnily enough I bought this in Nigeria - Lagos to be precised. I was surprised at the kind of boutiques there are in Lagos. It was a case of me being "sakai". Having used to seeing fakes being sold back home, the last place I expected to find genuine goods was in Nigeria.
I might add that I also bought this as a case of "kapih-kapihan" things to buy. I recall my theme of the month at that time was "....it's the least Nigeria could do."
